ide vs scsi burning

I need advice on using scsi cdrom with a ide burner
currently, i have all my ide devices maxed out 2 hds, 1 zip100 and 1 toshba dvd/cdrw combo.
i have advansys scsi card.

would adding a scsi or ide cdrom be better with this setup? (ie performance /stability)

I'm not sure how you would add another IDE device, unless you are planning to add another IDE controller card. One thing you might consider is replacing that internal Zip with an external USB zip. Zip drives have fallen in price, and the net cost may be cheaper than buying a scsi device and/or buying another IDE controller + CDROM. Iomega had some rebates going on last I checked.

There have been some threads recently about what CDROMs to buy -- I really like the Teac 540E, an IDE device. CDSpeed2000 is a good place to look up benchmarks and user comments on drives. Good luck. RW
