IDE vs. EIDE

I saw some motherboards have IDE controllers(like Epox 8K7A+), and others have EIDE controllers(like ABIT KG7). Is there a big difference between IDE and EIDE in performance and stability? Can I use a EIDE hard drive on an IDE one, or the other way around? I heard EIDE is newer than IDE. So when buying a motherboard, do I need to consider it as a factor and buy an EIDE one?

Thanks a lot!

HAHAHAH 😀😀 dood u aint got a chance in hell of getting an IDE drive / controller - they went out with RFM and XT 's 😀 IDE in today's environment is just a shortening of EIDE.

Most mobo's have ATA 100 controllers on them now, and Epox and Abit both make superior products so you can't go wrong with either🙂
