IDE to SATA power adapter...

I don't know if this is the appropriate forum, but it's close enough. So I know there are adapters out there that convert the old 4-pin molex to the SATA for old psu to be compatible with the SATA drives. My question is there adapter that converts SATA power to the 4-pin? I happen to have a newer psu and I don't have enough 4-pin to distribute to other components, so I'm stuck now. Of course, if there isn't such adapter, I'll cut the wire my self 🙂 Thanks,

Look up your PSU's wiring. The 4 pin Molex prolly come from the same 5&12V rail as the SATA, so just use 4 pin Y-splitters.

I have not seen the adapter you seek and I have looked in the past. Molex to SATA, yeah...but not the other way.

It's cheaper than Newegg's shipping. 😛 Order more items and save on shipping. 🙂

But my thinking is that the Y cable will put more strain on that particular wire than hooking up an adapter to a different wire that has nothing attach to it.
