IDE slave not working

Switch everything from old case to the new NZXT Lexa, and for some reason the 2nd dvd isn't working. It powers on, but when i put in a cd (game) it asks for the cd. The system (device mgr, my computer etc) recognizes it. For instance if i go to my computer, there the dvd rom (it has a game cd in it) but it just shows the dvd with nothing in it. I have switched the master to the slave, the same. I have went from the round cable, to the traditional ribbon cable, to no avail. I even went to the top (primary) dvd burner and hooked it up to the primary IDE on the Mobo, and the second dvd rom to the secondary IDE, same thing. IT worked for a few seconds, then didn't work again. Same mobo, only difference is the zalman cnps 7700 was installed.

Doubel check you jumper settings. Worse scenario is to install the DVD drives one at a time. Remember, for each IDE channel if you have two drives connected to it, one should be a master while the other will be a slave. If you only have the DVD by itself in each channel then they should be jumpered as masters.
