ok, well guys my 32x burner is soon to be here :) and I am planning on running 2 harddrives and 2 cd rom drives.. (one cdrw one regular) so how do i set it up? I am going to have 1 harddrive (60 giger) to be storing files and going to be useing this hdd mostly burning files from so would i be able to set this hdd up as slave for ide2 while the master is the burner.. will i be able to burn files because they will be on the same ide cable? so will... hdd (20gig) ide1 master cdrom ide1 slave and cdrw ide2 master hdd (60gig) ide2 slave willthat work? or will i need a different way of seting it up?

thanks

Are you burning on the fly with both cd-roms on the same IDE? I currently have my Plex 8/4/32 & 56x Aopen on IDE1 as master/slave and a 60 gb maxtor HD & 10 gb HD on IDE0 as master/slave.

I get buffer underrun errors when burning on the fly and actually got an error the other day burning to the HD. I have been told that you really want the burner and the cd-rom on different IDE channels. I bought some longer IDE cables from Newegg to put the maxtor hd & 56x cd-rom as master/slave and the Plextor & 10 gb as master/slave.

On a side note, I bought all my compter equipment from Newegg and was very impressed with their prices and service. I ordered a 24" & 36" ide cable with a $6 sunon fan and paid more in shipping than I did for parts :( Not sure how that happened ...
