I'm just looking to fill out a basic conceptual understanding which I couldn't find in the h'ware FAQs (when I searched for "PATA). My understanding regarding HD standards is the following:
IDE is the "old" standard
ATA came next (100, 133, etc)
SATA is serial ATA = about 2X faster than ATA
What is PATA and where does it fall in the context of the 3 above???
