IDE RAID solution for home?

I keep filling up my hard drives and getting bigger ones, so I now have four or five 40-80GB disks laying around. Is there an IDE RAID solution, or even an enclosure without RAID, that will allow me to utilize these?

I remember seeing an IDE RAID enclosure at PC Expo in the late 90's, but that company went under and now I can't find anything.

You'd be better off selling those drives here on AT for $20-$40 (or whatever the going rate is) and get one big 200gb, in my opinion.

I have a 200 and a 250GB drive already. The 40-80GBs are sitting unused, and I'd like to make use of them. RAID, if possible, so I can back up stuff without burning a bunch of DVDs.

Thanks though.

Yeah, I know what you want to do, I just think it's not that cost effective. :)

You would have to buy a raid controller card, which is why people are saying it would nto be very cost effective. It's up to you; but the cost of that card kind of out-weighs the benefits you'd get, when you could just buy a newer, bigger hard drive instead.
