I dont know crap about ide raid, usually work with scsi ones... friend just bought a dell 4300 p4 x.x.x.x with a 80gigger hd

I put a high point raid in his old system and it did some weird things, ie ide card must be before scsi or system won't boot up.. etc.etc

so now he's got this new system with Windows XP and was wondering if the IDE card (old highpoint or promises) would work well with Windows XP home or should I just dump it and put Windows 2000 on it ?

Also the old highpoints were buggy, should I stick to them or chose like promise or something new...

I have IDE RAID using ACARD 6680 card. Very inexpensive (about $80), works fine, and supports ATA/133. I'd like to do SCSI RAID, but card is VERY expensive. The IDE RAID is outpeforming the non-RAID SCSI.
