I just put together a new computer and I'm having problems with getting it set up. I have my 40GB IBM 60GXP on Secondary Master and my Pioneer DVD-106S on Primary Master and AOpen Burner on Primary Slave. When I boot up the hard drive shows up correctly, but the Pioneer DVD doesn't show up at all while the Aopen burner shows up as Primary master instead. I rechecked the cord a few times and eveything is connected correctly. I have another IDE cable that is only 1 ended and I can get either drive to come up as Primary Master with this cord. What's going on? What should I do to fix this? Thanks.

Shouldn't that be the other way around?

Yeah, try it the other way around. Also check the boot sequence in the BIOS. I did have a problem booting to DOS with an extra IDE card installed. It would hang when it got to it. Once I got the OS installed I was good to put it back in.

as others have said, make the hard drive primary master. also, you said you checked the cables, but make sure you have the master/slave jumpers set right
