IDE - CDROM Problem

I recently installed the 4.49 via drivers because I thought i didnt have them. Turns out i did. Now my artec 52x cd burner will no longer show up in device manager as ultra dma mode 2, its locked on pio. but in bios it is dma 2. any idears?

You didn't say what OS you're running. If you're on Win2K or XP you could try rolling back the drivers. It's an option under the Drivers tab for the particular device in Device Manager. If you're on Win9x, you could try to uninstall the drivers , then reboot and let Windows re-detect the device and ask for the driver disk. Be careful if you do the second option. I've had about a 66% success rate.

i had read on another thread someone suggested uninstalling the secondary channel. i did that and when it reinstalled-bingo. thanks. but now i'm still getting buffer underuns. what is that and how do i fix it?
