IDE Cables

What would be the longest rounded IDE cable I could get? I have seen 24" regularly but if I need longer are they even made? Will they cause any issues? I would also like them to be the braided clear ones. Thanks.

They do make 36" IDE cables, but the ATA specification is only 18".

Problem is with longer cables, you may get data corruption, and your hard drive has to work harder to retransmit data.

Thanks for the article, I will have to read the rest later. By the way, that's a great LCD mod on your Lian Li! What are you using for that? A dual output video card? I am very interested in doing someting like that, could you give me a little insight on how you have that working? Thanks again for the article.

Thanks Wish it was my idea originally.. saw it at Text last December..

Basically, the LCD runs off 12 V from the powersupply and the video-out of my PCI Radeon.

These are the longest I have seen at 36", this vendor also has many other sizes of clear with silver braid.
