IDE Cables

Im thinking of putting in 1x Hard Drive and 2x Optical Drives in my computer. How many IDE cables do I need? and does the retail version of the Optical Drives come with IDE cables?

You'll need a dual IDE cable for the optical drives and a single IDE cable for the HDD drive. IIRC the optical drives come with a dual ribbon cable if retail.

Can I use the IDE cable that comes with the mobo?
And I look at the pictures of the Optical Drive and I dont see a ribbon cable. I see a small cable but im not sure? Can you guys clarify.

That's the audio cable.

I was mistaken. You'll need to get a dual IDE cable.

Yes the mobo one works fine.

I have yet to see a retail drive or motherboard that doesn't come with cabling. Only thing I can think off hand that doesn't come with necessary cables is printers.
