why not just light a match and set the whole oil spill ablaze?

whatever happened to that plan?

they did burn some, but the waves got too high for it to be continued safely... and they can only do it where there's a concentration of oil and it's far enough from shore...

They Majority of the oil is also underwater where its rather difficult to burn.

I keep hearing the same people who usually complain about the government doing anything now calling for Obama to do more, what is it exactly that the government is not doing?

Thats a pretty nice straw man there.

Lets look at it this way, if the government had enforced the regulations in place this might have not happened. Same thing happened at the SEC. It is not about quantity of regulations but the quality of regulations and enforcement of those regulations. Regulations are pointless if the government doesn't enforce them.

I agree completely. While accidents will always happen reducing them comes down to effective regulations, which is impossible when we have corporations buying politicians through lobbying and now unlimited spending towards their campaigns.

There is a reason why these agencies have all failed in majorly in a short period of time , its not a coincidence.

But I'm wondering what people think the government isn't doing right in regards to the response?
