has brady quinn ever had a good game against a good defense? racking up points against service academies does not a good quarterback make.

If the raiders take Quinn they are asking for big trouble. They should definitely take Troy Smith if they could. Either that or trade Randy Moss for a QB...(Damon Huard or the Falcons backup?). Randy Moss is still good, he just hates it there.

Moss hates it because no one can get him the ball. He's out there just doing cardio, and he's never been the type to put effort forth when he knows the ball's not coming to him. Any why would they trade their only receiver so they can get a career backup qb who will then have no one to throw to combined with horrible protection from the O line combined with a crappy offensive system?

I think Russell is the perfect fit for Oakland. Oakland/Al Davis has always loved the deep passing game and have Randy Moss for a deep threat. I don't know about Troy Smith but Russell can sit in the pocket, roll out, and flick it for 80 yards.

Troy Smith is undersized for the pro.
Not to say that he can't succeed in the pro but nobody in the NFL is going to pick Troy Smith over Brady Quinn in the draft.

What's the point of drafting a QB if your offensive line sucks ass? The Raiders have a young QB in Andrew Walter but the poor guy hasn't had an opportunity to show what he can do since he is so busy evading tacklers and getting sacked.

EDIT: Oh and RM is a disgrace. He dropped so many easy catches.

Sucks.

Are you trying to compare Aaron Brooks to Russell?

Not to mention at 6'6" and over 260 he's a force to bring down. Oakland lead the league in sacks allowed. They need a big dude that can throw the ball away before being drug down to the ground.

I'm not sure what you're trying to say, but the only similarities between Aaron and Russell are that they're both black.

So was Flutie and so is Brees.

I'm not saying Smith won't play in the NFL as a QB, but how many successful small QBs are there? He should be like Randle-El or Heinze Ward and switch~.

He's an accurate passer, with good pocket poise with football smarts and the ability to escape the rush. What more do you want from your QB?

The Raiders are just screwed, let's leave it at that.

iirc, the whole mentality behind the raiders signing of aaron brooks was his ability to launch the ball downfield

Troy Smith is a Drew Brees clone. Same height and throwing motion. and both our athletic and can move in the pocket and scramble. Smith is even a little more athletic than Brees.
