I am a veteran watcher of many series. The ones i suggest...wait no porn ones? Sorry I am all out of ideas.

Check out Valkeria Chronicles. 26 episodes long and speeds up quickly.

雲の向こう、約束の場所 - Beyond the Clouds/The Place Promised in Our Early Days
劇場版 空の境界 - Kara no Kyoukai/The Garden of Sinners
攻殻機動隊 - Ghost in the Shell
黒の契約者 - Darker than Black
十二国記 - Twelve Kingdoms

Rabid Anime fans note - WATCH EVERYTHING IN JAPANESE WITH SUBTITLES. There are only a handfull of anime where the English voice actors are as good as the Japanese ones. Im not sure if its just a language thing, but the Japanese voides usually seem much more animated and alive.

EXCEPTIONS NOTE.

GITS is fine in English. The voice acting is well done.

Rurouni Kenshin under no circumstance should be watched in Japanese. Kenshin's voice is an abomination in Japanese.

Ninja Scroll (movie)
Appleseed (movie)
Outlaw Star (series)
Cowboy Bebop (series)
Samurai X: Trust and Betrayal (movie)
(You can watch Kenshin the animated series. It was really good until after he fought that guy that doesn't sweat anymore. I forgot his name. After this sequence it goes downhill.)
Jubei Chan (series)

I plan on watching Vampire Hunter D and Wampire Hunter D Bloodlust soon, which I have heard were good movies.

That would be because Kenshin was voiced by a WOMAN.

I enjoy anime but, you have to come to terms with the style. First, there is no first (introduction.) Second, there is never under any circumstances anything resembling a conclusion. Third, a fair amount of anime is written specifically to fuck with Western culture so, relax and enjoy the eye candy.

I will say that the Bleach dub is pretty good though I really thought they picked the wrong person for Nel
