I'd just like to give props to PC Power and Cooling

Didn't know where else to post this, so I'm putting it here unless told otherwise.

I just wanted to let anyone who's looking for a power supply know that PC Power and Cooling gave me some excellent customer service, definately exceeding my expectations with a company I'd never bought from before. I ordered a power supply from them shortly after christmas, the 510-SLI. After placing my order, they called me to let me know that the parts were not available and they couldn't manufacture my PSU until 1/5/04. Needless to say, I was just a little disappointed, but I was glad they let me know ahead of time instead of making me play the waiting game. Well, I came home from work today to find a box tucked under my welcome mat, and lo and behold, my PSU has arrived! Received from them a full DAY before they expected to BUILD it! Everything looks spiffy, got a nice neat packing slip/receipt, and the package was well-packed and most certainly avoided damage. I have yet to see how well it works (Haven't received my case yet from Monarch... grr.), but judging from others' reviews of this company, it should work like a charm. If you're concerned about buying/shipping/service hassles from this company... you shouldn't be.

More on this after I get my system built. ETA: Mid January...?

They have made some good computer cases, heatsinks and other gadgets in the past, as well.

Nobody disputes the primacy of the Turbo-Cool line. Given either the Antec NeoPower, another PSU by CoolerMaster and even the OCZ PowerStream, it is just not so clear anymore that it is the only "best" PSU in the market, so when you add the qualifier " . . . for the money", it may not even be among the best. Usually, though, people "like us" tend to err in favor of "absolutes", so we might not even blink at spending an extra $100 if it assured us of either "the best" or the "Most established of the best".

Consider == suppose the differential between "another" choice and the Turbo-Cool is $90. That is, "another" choice costs $90 less than the Turbo-Cool. Would that be too much to pay for good customer service?

One quick reality check, while they are a good company, their items are pretty much relabeled from other manufacturers.. in all truthfulness, they should have told you they were waiting on a shipment from a supplier, not waiting to 'build' it..

that being said, their items are good, but they are not a manufacturer, their cases, fans , p/s are almost all rebadged.. BTW this is first-hand knowledge from support.

so whats the PSU manufacturer then ?

Well they are based on other units but they are more simply rebadged. The Turbo Cool is based on Emacs and the Silencer series is based on a Seasonic.

That?s pretty much how the PSU industry works, almost all brands come from only a handful of real manufactures it just not economically possible to build your own units from scratch.

I think it more than just rebadged in the case of PC&C. I think they are closer to most people who create choppers. Most chopper builders assemble. they just have other manufacture the parts. Its the same with motherboards, only a few actually get into the manufacturing process. In the case of PSU's i think how and what parts are used in its assembley are far more important than who makes the individual parts.

I just received my new 510 Deluxe yesterday (04 Jan). Quick shipping to Hawaii. I am very happy with the quality of workmanship. Looking forward in installing it very soon and cleaning up the inside of my case (a.k.a. cable management).

Good luck EvilRage on your new build.

I just finished installing my new PC Power & Cooling 510 Deluxe. I finally got the nerve to tackle the project (after reading some horror stories about not being able to boot after swapping PSU:Q ). It was quite easy to do. Everything was of course "plug and play". I tried to clean up the case (A.K.A. "wire management") but this damn Thermaltake case has five fans and a fan control unit that makes it difficult with all the wires going all over the place:disgust:!. No matter, I'm just glad that the swap went without any problems.

I hope to do one one more upgrade with a new video card in the near future (that's why the PSU upgrade). Looking at getting a BFG 6800 Ultra and I that will be Nirvana😉.

All the best on the forum.
