icy dock raid

guys, i wrote about wanting to get the Icy Dock BM662US-2S raid enclosure... and i did. i also ordered 2 WD Caviar hard drives, brand new.

the only bad thing is, the instructions aren't detailed and i'm having problems getting it to work. Windows Vista recognizes them in Device Manager and in Computer Management/Disk Management, but not in Windows Explorer.

do i have to initialize the disks? if so, should i use Master Boot Record or GUID partitioning? it's one or the other.

i also downloaded Steelvine Manager but that doesn't seem to help with the RAID configuration part. any help is appreciated - thanks!

they won't be used as bootable drives, I would suggest the latter. Windows explorer will not see them until the array has been formatted.
