Which features of ICS are they excluding?
No S-Beam and I think NFC overall's been heavily crippled. While not directly ICS, Shamesung has decided to not give us Note owners S-Voice. Samsung's lack of care for the people who buy their damn phones is pathetic.
expect to see something like....No S-Beam and I think NFC overall's been heavily crippled. While not directly ICS, Shamesung has decided to not give us Note owners S-Voice. Samsung's lack of care for the people who buy their damn phones is pathetic.
Seriously, it's not even 5 months since it's been released. And now it's like "Oh hey, thanks for buying our outdated phone a few months ago. You want that really cool feature where the phone doesn't lock as long as you're looking at it? (A pretty nifty feature, actually) You're more than free to buy our newest phone for $600 since you probably just signed a two-year contract for that worthless old thing you're currently carrying."
Funny, everyone was hating on Samsung for only showing off "gimmicky" software tweaks with the S3 and now suddenly those two things are the difference between a modern phone and a worthless one...
I see why Samsung did it (they're supposed to be "exclusive features" to the S3 to help sell it more) but I don't agree with it. However, buying a Note and expecting it to gain new and (at the time) unannounced features that aren't even a part of stock Android is a bit much.
Why don't you just buy an iPhone if you so heavily crave their method of software updates?
I currently have my Note on CL in the trade section. It's been 2 weeks now, and not surprisingly I haven't gotten an email from a single iPhone 4S owner interested in trading.
Not surprising, they are completely different OSes with different app stores and are almost polar opposites in physical specs (small vs. extra large). Maybe you should try just selling the Note and then buying a 4S? Here on CL the 4S is almost ~$100 cheaper than the Note from a quick check.
Are we allowed to talk about how Samsung is selectively not adding features in order to encourage users to buy newer hardware?
Or do we reserve that talking point against Apple only?
