This makes me incredibly excited, because hopefully that means the D4 update isn't too far away...

We're getting new ICS-leaks every other day at this point.

Cool. My wife is getting tired of me annoying her with the fact my Nexus has ICS and her Razr doesn't. Just checked, but she hasn't gotten it yet.

Maybe in the US but not many people use Moto phones to begin with worldwide.

True. But I was subtly referring to the recent wave of SGS2 ICS updates too. The last Android version number graph has ICS ~7%. That will be significantly higher by the next poll.

just in time to be one release cycle behind again with android 4.1

The difference between 2.3.x and 4.0.x was huge and required significant rewrites, the difference between 4.1.x and 4.0.x will be much smaller. But yeah, the Bionic, Razr/Maxx, and Droid 4 likely won't see it.

I'm sure there will be roms, just like there are ICS Roms for those 3 devices now. Besides, everybody knows 3rd party Roms are where it's at

Yay! nothing yet here, but here's to hoping it actually comes this time!

Wish they'd change the way they did these updates. For OTA over mobile data, roll it out in phases. But, let any device on WiFi pull the update. Or provide a manual update option, download from a web browser, copy a .zip to the phone, reboot and update.

I read the june 22 date was for a soak test to a small selection of owners, and the rest of us should get the update around the 27th.

Heh. That's exactly what I was thinking... except I think you mean Wednesday.

Yeah, I got the date wrong. I actually think that there is a large enough number of phones out there that are abandoned in terms of software updates that no OS will ever get the same percentage of marketshare which Android 2.3.x had at it's peak.

My razr's screen is all scratched. Will ICS fix that?

From the stuff I've heard, ICS will cure your tumors and even fill in for you at work if you can find the setting for it. I'm sure a few measly scratches won't be an issue.

Sweet! :awe:

But seriously, my razr is sluggish. Hopefully ICS on it will boost it a bit.
