ICS option missing?

When I view the properties of my "Local Area Network" connection under Network Connections, the Advanced tab does not display any options for ICS.

I could have sworn it used to.

Am I missing something obvious?

More info needed on your set-up.

I'm gonig to guess that you have a host PC with a dialer connection - If this is the case then you will need to look under the advanced tab of the dailer settings

ICS Sucks. Go buy a cheap router. 🙂

Indeed, it does suck for regular use.

But I am trying an experiment. I want to be able to dial into my own PC to use as a mini ISP. It's working to a degree...

I can get someone to dial into my PC, and a connection will appear so I know the authentication/handshake is working. They are, however, unable to access the internet. I didn't spend enough time with them to isolate what was happening. And to make matters worse, the client PC was running Windows 98. Not that it should matter for dial-up purposes, but still.

So I was thinking that possibly sharing my LAN connection would let them connect.

I really need a second phone line to test this out so I can be sitting in front of both end points.
