ICQ/Win2K users - ever experience this?

I have noticed that no matter what, with the latest version of ICQ (it's the only version of ICQ that is acceptable that still connects (pre-2000a don't work anymore)), I get this.

Very annoying since I use the history all the time...

anybody else get this or know what to do about it?

I get it too, but only with ICQ2001. It's like ICQ is using the Wingdings font or something to display message history. Nobody in the Usenet newsgroups has been able to solve this one yet, AFAIK.

Tip: Double-click on the message to make it show up normally again. Not as convenient, but at least you can still look at your history.

Damn, so I'm not the only one. Yeah, I know I can double click on it to see the contents, but still... What an absolutely ridiculus bug. Where did that one come from? It was never there in any of the previous versions. If it weren't for that, and one other thing, then it would be just perfect. The other thing is that when you play games which use a different resolution, ICQ resizes itself to that (MSN does not, Miranda ICQ does not, AIM does not).

Oh well, thanks for the reply, at least I know I'm not alone.

Exactly. Maddening, isn't it? 😕
