ICQ is developing a new version of ICQ, called "ICQ Lite" (no relation with the web-based ICQ2Go, previously name Lite). It's still in alpha, but works like a charm. The interface has been stripped down, removing all the excess bagage that build up along the years. There are no ads, and it's only a 1.4MB download!

And please .... refrain from posting "ICQ sux", or "Use Trillian"! We already know what you're trying to say, and it adds nothing to the thread.

Cool, should check out ICQ lite, but I'm a pretty happy Miranda ICQ user.

Has anyone have any problems with it? Right now I'am "away" on ICQ lite and I just tried to delete something using shift+delete and it closes the windows explorer window and brings up icq lite. Or what about when you right click on a file or folder when browsing your hardrive's contents using my computer? It also closes the window and brings up icq lite.

fix me?

Couldn't reproduce that behaviour here. Try reinstalling ...

Yes ... I think that's the new concept ICQ is targetting ... ICQ Lite resembles in many ways MSN Messenger's system.
