ICQ Moves by Itself

Hey guys,

I am using ICQ 2000b and whenever I boot up my computer or play a game, ICQ moves the center of the screen and resizes itself. I was just wondering if this happens to anyone else and if there is a way to prevent this from happening? I would appreciate any feedback.

Thanks,

This is because of the resolution switching that occurs when you start a game up.

Open a bunch of windows on the desktop - launch game - quit and you'll see what I mean.

The windows are moved, to fit within the 800x600 or whatever resolution desktop your game is set to launch at.

There's probably a utility out there to fix this, but I simply minimize ICQ and keep only the Status Floater visible. Since there is no window to resize or move, I don't run into any problems.

i found that if you put the window on the left side of the screen, it can usually "remember" the location.
yes, it's annoying, since i like to put it on the right side of the screen.
usually what i do is keep opening/moving/closing the icq window, until at one point it will "remember" to stay there (don't know how).

another thing i just thought of and never tried is looking at the registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Mirabilis/ICQ/Owners/your_number

in there there are keys like FloatBar-Bottom, Top, Left, etc.
maybe those keys can be used to move and stick your icq position?

I always do minimize ICQ before I play a game or do anything that would change my resolution. It also moves the position of it when I startup my computer.

The registry key that you talk about is interesting, but I do not know what to change to get it stay at the position I put it at on my screen. I would love to figure this out, so if you guys or anyone has a suggestion, I would appreciate hearing it.

Thanks,
