ICQ Memory Usage

I know as each new version of ICQ comes out, it comes with more useless options and it sucks up more ram. Does anyone know how much ram each version of ICQ uses? If you can, go back as far as you can with the versions. I'm thinking of using an older version of ICQ that won't suck up so much ram. There's also the question of ICQ database compatability. Will a 2000a db folder be able to be imported by a 99a version of ICQ?
 
I'm not too sure about the memory usage issue, but ICQ database is NOT backwards compatible... That means ICQ99a would not be able to convert or use a database from something like ICQ2000a...
