How do I change the icons for a folder. I know how to do it for file types and how to do if for my computer, my docs, network 'hood, recycle bin, but how do i do it for others, most especially folders. I have Win 98

I believe there are a number of shareware or freeware utilities available for this.

If you want to roll your own, this URL should prove helpful.

For a question like that I usually hit Windows98 Annoyances in search of the answer. Unfortunately, that's one of the questions where you have to buy the book to get the answer.

If you have something like TweakUI that you can use to remove shortcut arrows, maybe you could do this:

Right click on the folder
Create Shortcut
Right click on shortcut that is created and change the icon
And then make the original folder a hidden file

(edited to correct misspelling)
