Icons Run Away From Pointer. Virus?

There are 3 Win2k Pro computers on a LAN that have the same problem. The icons on the desktop run away(believe it or not) from the mouse pointer. Seems like this has to be caused by a virus. Anybody have any ideas what virus would cause that?

MAGISTR fits - the moving icons are a known symptom. (See Indications of Infection #1 below) Here's a different removal recipe:

Don't you all use the latest updated Anti-virus software? If that doesn't detect it, maybe it is a joke by one of your co-workers. I remember seeing a pc joke that you could install that would make it seem like the icons were "running" away from the pointer. Just make sure it is not a virus first!
