icons in Steam for non steam games

For non steam games, is there anyway to change the generic icons in steam for ones similar to the actual steam purchased games? at least something to fill the wide tabs?
would also be cool if it could add the info and stuff like it normally would for steam purchased games.

arnt there any kind of steam front ends, mods or anything by now?
