I own the Rogue 1 from a previous Newegg deal. I have to say that it is probably the brightest (by a hair) single AA flashlight I have, and I have a LOT of those things. :$ I usually don't need more than one mode, but I guess if you know you will need super long runtime, you can go with the low mode. I have a flashlight that has FIVE modes, and I never use anything but "high." I think the only flashlight that I own which is brighter than this is an Ultrafire 2xAA single mode which uses a Cree Q5 emitter. I also have an LED Lenser brand single AA single mode with unknown (to me) emitter which is almost as bright. All my other single AA are less bright. The build quality seems decent, which is nice since most of mine are, ahem, cheap crap (except for the branded ones). One thing to note is that the Icon flashlights are kind of bulky for being a single AA. They're easier to hold and use as a "normal" flashlight, but not as nice to carry all the time in your pocket.

Sad thing is I'm considering buying the Rogue 2. :\ I have too many LED flashlights as it is.

BTW, I also have this flashlight I bought from Dealextreme that cost around $3.35 with free shipping. For less than 1/5 the price of the Icon, it has around 3/5 of the "rated" light output. To my own eyes, the light output is pretty darn close.

We lose power quite often, i got one of these lanterns, lit up my entire room.

edit-i don't mean to take anything away from the ops post, flashlights are good and serve there purpose.

I have the neutral white and warm white XM-L versions of this light. I only run them with AA NiMH and they put out a wall of floody light. It's a decent light for the price considering they use XM-L LEDs.

If you order from tacticalhid be sure to check the top of the page for the stock status of colors and tints. They are very popular and the XM-L LEDs have been in short supply. I just checked and all models will be in stock by the 29th.
