Great show in all. It told a decent story about the band that a lot of people don't know about. Anyway here's my review (I'm doing it from memory, hopefully I don't forget anything).

Sum41 - Good music, great solo for MOP actually, but horrible vocalist with an annoying voice = B-
Avril - Again, pretty good musicians, Avril is a mad little girl but not quite on the level with Jaymz but I thought she pulled it off very well = B+
Jim B - Pretty dang funny but I heard him do that bit before on his own special regarding AC/DC. = B- (would have been an A- but he is reusing material)
Snoop - is he tone deaf? what was that? = F
Korn - Loved their sound, I for one think that they took a great song and made it Korn style. I was very impressed however as I predicted their guitarists have very little real talent (their bassist rocks though) and stuck to the 7-stringed power chords and did not attempt to solo other than the slow intro. = A-
Limp Bizkit - I loved the music and the sound but Durst? uh his voice is so whiny and annoying and he jumps around and flails his arms like a chicken = C+
The boys we were waiting for - Awesome, insanely fast, pulled out a great medley of music, new bassist should fit in fine and Jamyz is kicking a$$ since coming back from rehab = A+

In all the show gets an A

World's biggest Metallica fan here, and I'm not talking about my size. I'm 28 and have recently been afraid that I'm losing touch with what's "cool" these days, but last night's show proved that "new" cannot compare with the "old". In fact, I don't even like to think of Metallica as old. Despite the fact that they have a 20 year history, they are still the current standard for Metal. And not in a tribute-y way, like people talk about Springsteen or the Stones. You have to remember, they got started as teenagers, so even with a 20 year history, they're rather young.

When I was in high school (10 years ago) modern bands would do covers of Zepplin. Whereas everyone agreed Zepplin was cool, they were outdated. Hearing Queensryche or Crue do a Zepplin cover was so much cooler than hearing the original. However, I hope kids today don't think that way of last night's show. I thought most of those band sucked! Except for Sum 41, who rocked my ass off! Those guys have more talent than any other band up there, except for Metallica of course.

Avril is the most spoiled little brat, who can't sing very well. They could have picked any punk off the street and had the same song. Her band was good, but she sucked. Snoop should have rapped Sad But True, and it would have been killer. I see now why he doesn't sing. Fred Durst's 15 minutes of fame was up 14 minutes ago. His off-key yelling got old real quick. I liked the description of it being any Limp song, with Metallica lyrics thrown in. I also noticed how Korn was messing up the slow solos on One, and was anxious to hear how they would tackle the end solo (which I have been able to play note-for-note since I first figured it out at 14, if I may brag a little), but was not surprised when they stopped the song before the solo. HAHAHAHAHA.

It's so sad that talent is not a prerequisite for success in music anymore. I think it's more image. I'm shocked to hear people say that Korn did a good job, but Sum 41 sucked. I see no logic behind that.

What's up with not being able to grab a real FRANTIC version from Kazaa? There's plenty of other stuff from St. Anger on there though... FRANTIC is just a studio version of Justice... seemingly the same one everyone has on there. And some of the other supposed "demos" on there aren't even Jaymz singing... what's up ?!

I hear you there. I wish it was just Metallica and not the rest of the groups (Mudvayne-actually wouldn't mind hearing them for some super heavy stuff, Deftones-not interested, Linkin Park-I'll pass, Limp Bizkit-I'll be plugging my ears hiding in the back). I don't want to spend the extra $$ plus get there like 7 hours before Metallica even plays just to get a decent place to stand.

When Limp Dick comes on it would be a good time to go to the bathroom, get some beers and score some stash.

They did a release with Ja Rule on vocals and it sounded like sh!t... this was found on Kazaa back in maybe November '02.

Ha! I heard that. Yeah that was bad.

Staley8, I agree, I have no wish to pay $70 to hear all those other bands in a football stadium.

They showed it again last night at 6:00pm. I bet they'll play it a couple times this weekend too. And if you don't have stereo sound with a sub, the story will still be good but the music will just plain suck. You have to crank it up, grab a beer (non alcoholic now b/c of Jaymz' rehad) and start head bangin'. I'll probably watch it again tonight off my tape just to hear the insanely fast medley at the end!! I think they were even stuggling to keep up on one or two of the songs but they managed it.

Man ican't wait for the CD/DVD. Watching over and over again the tape you really know why they are the greatest. After listening to everyone else trying to redo thier music and then listening to them was incredible.
