iCLOUD vs Google question

I currently use Gmail as my email provider, and use google calendars, and I'm considering completely switching to iCloud email.

Has anyone made this switch, and would you recommend it?

I'd like to switch because it'll be one less account to manage, and I'll be able to sync notes across iCloud to my Mac with Mountain Lion.
I have an iphone, ipad, and mac air. But my desktop at home is a PC.
Currently share calendars with wife who has iphone and ipad, with google calendars. Any benefits ditching google either with calendar or both calendar/gmail and going icloud?

Is it worth it?

i haven't switched but you get 5gigs free of space with icloud and if you're syncing emails between your iphone, ipad, and mac air, you're stuck with sharing 5 gigs with everything else syncing to icloud - backups, mail, game data, contacts, Calendars, Reminders, Notes, Photo Stream, Safari, Misc Docs and & Data.

Extra:
10 gigs - 20 USD/Year
20 gigs - 40USD/Year
50 gigs - 100 USD/Year

Personally, gmail/calendar is so flexible and cross platform, i wont ditch it. Free.

I wouldn't ditch gmail but I would ditch google calendars. Use calendar on Mac and iPhone to manage your calendars.
