We need to get an NES to Famicom adapter so we can use the second controller's crappy microphone to mux with the game audio (it's always on; always mixing). :awe:

I did try a bit the other day when I came across another copy and had to test it. I don't think there's any way we'll ever beat it in 2p just because one player is always going to get game over before the other (drags both down, IIRC), but I do want to make a serious 2p attempt some day soon.

I still need to legit play it myself.

I can cheat in that I can train and memorize the harder levels using hardware save state mappers in the Power Pak cart without wasting time starting from the title screen. I guess it's essentially infinite lives if you save state a the start and load from the game over screen. Or you can take it further and save state after each jump.

It's not that bad after the BS turbo tunnel level.

Man, that was BRUTAL for an NES game and entirely out of character for Batman. Freakin' awesome though! So few NES games had satisfying endings (just "The End" or "[Engrish] [line-break] Game Over"). EVERYONE wanted to see Batman finally get The Joker and this game DELIVERED.

Ha ha...pretty out-of-character for Batman.

The next game's title ("Return of the Joker") seems to imply that Joker didn't die after all. The first one was inspired by Ninja Gaiden and the sequel was inspired by Megaman. The Batman NES games are knock-offs in a way, but very good knock-offs. People say the sequel is also a good game. Even more out-of-character for Batman because the whole game centers around shooting guns and acquiring different kinds of guns.
