That's an interesting take on the situation, and probably what she was thinking. The reality is that she interfered in an ongoing and legal police action, ignored a legal order to step out of her vehicle when confronted by ICE agents, decided to flee rather than face arrest, and put an Ice agent at risk.
I think the shooting was unnecessary, but I wasn't the one looking at the car coming at me, nor did the agent have the benefit of three different viewing angles. The fellow had half a second to make a decision, I think he made the wrong one, but it's really easy say that sitting in my comfortable chair and watching it from 3 different perspective's.
A car is just a car until it's accelerating toward you, then it's a deadly weapon.
