People who voted Republican voted for this: inhumane concentration camps.
Probably at least half of them did indeed vote exactly for this, knowingly and intentionally, and are pleased as punch with the result. I'm sure we've all seen the merch. Losing their food stamps and health care is a small price to pay.

DHS, not HHS.

And, yes it is. They'll run out if the big, beautiful, pile-o-shit bill isn't passed. Mercs and Proud boys are expensive.
ICE’s funding is now larger than the FBI, DEA, ATF, Bureau of Prisons. Welcome to your new police state infrastructure.

Is on par with some regular armies!
Per an article on the previous page of this thread, it's significantly more than Russia's military budget. They're #3 in the world. It's roughly equal to 4&5 on the list combined.
I expect a significant portion of it will go towards graft, various contractors associated with the admin and their cronies.

Until there are some resistance and moves into a regular army territory making weapons and even military tier items.

This is why they cut Medicaid and some Medicare, to pay for this shit and give Billionaires a big fat permanent tax cut. Deficits? Oh they are only bad when Dems are in power.

Nah, they gonna blame the libtards for letting it happen

The median voter is going to talk themselves out of responsibility by saying "I didn't want that" despite Trump promising to do it. As such they can simply change their mind and vote for Democrats because they don't like whats going on. The MAGAs are a lost cause and I don't care about convincing them of anything.

By 2027 elections is likely that Trump is done. Even if he tries to make ICE to became another SS, the regular army won't even tolerate that.

At peak the SA was about 3 million in a country of 70 million people. The entire US military, reserves included, is 2M. ICE is trying to get to 15K with their new money and is going to struggle mightily to do so. To be on par with the manpower 1930s Nazi Germany had at its disposal ICE and associated orgs would need to grow to about 14M people.

Also, things matter if we say and believe they do, and encourage others around us to also care. It doesn't materialize from nothing; nihilism and defeatism aren't going to fix things.

I agree, im not going to stop voting, but its not like we cant see the writing on the wall

Republicans retiring from congress or declining to run sure seem to think they will.
They can't. If republicans do that, they are likely to authorize a coup from Trump, but at the same time is a suicide in any point of view.

And republicans (and democrats) know that after Trump, they might be royally screwed if JD Vance or someone worse enters.
