I'm thinking this would be a nice little box for Windows Media Center, but for $99 - what's wrong with it? P4 2.8 is what I'm using now on my 400SC w/ MCE and it's great. Only one tuner card, but am I missing anything?

I bought one of these last year from newegg for $129 (not FIC branded, but the identical system). These are great for HTPCs or desktops. I had a 5700 Ultra and Hauppauge PVR-250 in mine.

Power supply looks a tad low for putting anything too good in it. I was thinking about getting this and then putting in a different vid card to be used as a SageTV client...

Do you remember the model # / brand?

Like I said earlier, I'm wanting to get something for a SageTV client so all I pretty much need is cpu/hd/ram and a good s-video out video card.

Got one of these from Woot awhile back. Running a 2.66GHz Northwood, 1 Gig ram, 160 HDD, and a 9800 Pro no problems at all.

Plugged in a wireless PCI card and its chugged along happily since then.

Nice little box, but the sound insulation is not so good - oem coolers are very noisy in this box. Ended up getting a Zalman cpu sink and now it purrs along quiet and cool

Good deal if you are ok with AGP and No prescott limitation.

-peace

Was a little disappointed with their customer service. They advertise a credit account through Wells Fargo; I applied & was approved online, and I sent a .PDF of my approval to their Internet sales guy asking how I can use this new account on their Web special. He replied (in all caps, BTW :disgust: ) that I'd have to bring in my proof of approval, then fill out the paperwork in store. What the frank?!?!

Ah, I didn't need it anyway.

This is the best deal you will ever get for a processor that should work in these

Better than NEWEGG IMHO :)

Excellent trader and a distant buddy of mine :) You will have no worries if you decide to go the mobicel route as I have 2 myself and they really do kick the llammas arse for the money :)

Only thing is a prescott will not work with this case (or so the website says).

Edit: NM, just noticed you were talking about the mobiles..

I think it was a Chyang Fun brand. I bought one when Newegg had them on sale for 129 almost 2 years ago.

Same specs. Dunno about the PSU but mine was 230 IIRC.

From order history:
PC CHYANG FUN CF-S968L-BK 478 - OEM

What keeps me from buying this is where they say, "THIS UNIT DOES NOT SUPPORT PRESCOTT SERIES PROCESSORS OR 800 FSB CPU'S."

EDIT: It also only supports 4x AGP :(

Anyone else know of any P4 barebones cases like this that support 8x agp, 800mhz fsb and have clear side(s)?
