Ice cream chocolate chunks... ALWAYS DARK?!

It just occurred to me that the chocolate chunks in ice cream are always dark chocolate.
Mint chocolate chip, vanilla chocolate chip, etc.
We had some Cookie Dough chocolate chip over the weekend... same thing, DARK CHOCOLATE chips.

Why no milk chocolate in ice cream?!?!

Maybe my observations are incorrect?

Milk chocolate is impossible to put into icecream, the milk leaches out into the icecream, leaving only dark.

Ice cream is already sweet. Dark chocolate is a nice accent. Milk chocolate is just sweet overload.
 
Dark chocolate is disgusting and those that like it might as well like red chocolate, damn commies. But yeah, due to the nature of ice cream, milk chocolate doesn't work.
 
theres already tones of sugar in the ice cream itself, you dont need sugar in the chocolate. the dark chocolate is best when its grated instead of in chunks so it melts in your mouth easier. i hate the chocolate jawbreaker feel
