I have a ticket for an iBook that cannot get connected to the network. My question is, on the ethernet jack, should it light up like a normal PC network card does? I thought there were supposed to be lights on the jack.
 
I've never seen lights on any Mac ethernet port. OS X should show you whether you have a line connected in it's network control panel. OS 9 didn't have anything that indicated a physical connection.
