ibook or powerbook?

I've been looking at (drooling over) a couple of the 12 inch mac laptops at school. I want one. Unfortunatly I havent used a mac since high school, and I really dont know that much about them. Mostly want to do class work and web browsing, but I will take game capibility if I can get it 🙂 My school is on the education list for the apple.com store and I figure that will be my best deal. Advice would be nice.
edit
I've heard more ram is a biggy for panther, how much does everyone have?

I administrer a network of about 100 macs and about 200 PCs, and I have to say that gaming on a mac is pretty much out of the question, there are a couple games released for both platforms, but they are few and far between. Save your money and get the ibook, its more power than you need

does anyone know how many ram slots these books have?
The iBooks and 12" PowerBooks have memory soldered on board and one available memory slot. The 15" and 17" PowerBooks have two slots, with one filled when you buy the machine.

Thanks. I heard a disturbing rumor the other day that the current generation of ibook (9200 32mb radeon) wont fully support the graphical nicities of tiger. Can anyone confirm/deny this?

Tiger's Core Image is only supported on these cards:

* ATI Radeon 9800 XT
* ATI Radeon 9800 Pro
* ATI Radeon 9700 Pro
* ATI Radeon 9600 XT
* ATI Radeon 9600 Pro
* ATI Mobility Radeon 9700
* ATI Mobility Radeon 9600
* NVIDIA GeForce 6800 Ultra
* NVIDIA GeForceFX Go 5200
* NVIDIA GeForceFX 5200 Ultra

I'm not sure how many programs will initially support Core Image, but eventually more and more programs that manipulate images will use it.

The GeForceFX Go 5200 on the 12" PowerBook is enough. Also, the 12" PB comes with 64MB of video RAM, which should provide better Expose' performance than the 32MB of the iBook.
