IBM UPS

Local Circuit City has a display of IBM uninterruptible power supplies on sale @ $99.99 but the sign also says there's a $60 MIR for a net of $39.99 Sorry, I didn't get the model but I believe they were rated 500 VA. This may only be a local sale; if so, my apologies.

Probably a good thing to have out here in CA. The online store has the IBM 500VA/280WA for $110 - $30 CC rebate and - $30 IBM rebate.

This was posted several days ago, but the deal was for $99 with a $30 MIR. Did you actually see the rebate form?

D.

they both appear to be circuit city rebates, both start on the same day and end on the same day, so i think it may just be one rebate, i would not want to take the risk of loosing 30.00!

I cannot tell you what risk there may be of not getting both of the $30 rebates, but what I can tell you with absolute certainty is that they both go to the same address in Richmond, VA.

Circuit City Rebate
Program #9290
P.O.Box 90347
Richmond, VA 23230-9347

and

Circuit City Rebate
Program #9291
ETC.

yea that is why i posted what i did because the same address, but it may still be true just i am not gona find out the hard way! You Know!

Search for a previous, more informative thread on this deal. I recall the gyst of things is that Circuit City actually advertised $60 off MIR, so they *should* honor both. Whether they actually do is another matter.

I just bought one, sku 1 SL . The sign on the IBM TRP OfficePro 500 said $99.99 less $60 MIR, $39.99. The receipt printed out with two rebate forms as listed above. Worth a try.

I went back and bought one. The clerk printed out both rebate forms, and two extra copies of the sales receipt for me to send with them. I called the toll-free number on the rebate form, asked about using a copy of the UPC for one form, and was told that they'd accept a copy of the UPC for one of the two rebates. I also printed a copy of the Circuit City web page with this product, which clearly lists two $30 rebates, just in case.

Make sure you check B&M price first. My local B&M:
700 for $169; $149 on the web
500 for $99; $109 on the web

I talked to Customer Service and CC will accept a copy of the UPC for the CC rebate. The real one goes with the IBM rebate.

Thanks guys!

I just picked up one of the 500VA UPSs at my local Circuit City today!
fatboy is correct - be sure to ckeck the B&M prices on this deal. The CC website still listed the 500VA one at $109 - while my B&M store here in upstate NY had them for $99. Curiously, there was no rebate signs to be found near the display! A helpful CC clerk looked it up for me though and printed out the forms and receipt copies for me.

$99 -$30 -$30 = A sweet deal on a good UPS!

Thank you people. I bought 2 of these in Austin, TX Saturday night. Super buys. The salesmen knew zero about the rebates, but when they were rung up, wallah... 2 rebates for $60. What a deal! 😀

Jesseche: on-line rebate forms indicate that the items must be purchased between 1/25/01 and 3/31/01, and the rebate form must be postmarked by 4/01/01. So if the store still has the merchandise, the rebate is still good.

I bought one today. The clerk knew nothing about rebate. And it did print "2" $30 rebate forms. They all go to CC rebate center at Richmond but 2 differnet Dept(9290 & 9291). So where is IBM rebate?

Dogget -- you have what you need, there is no IBM reabate. CC just called it a mfg rebate. I already sent both of mine in.

The clerk who printed out the rebates told me that I just need to turn in copies of the upc code for both rebate forms...anyone else get similar advice?

No doubt! Make sure to push the salesperson if you have to. I spent 40 minutes in there while they tried looking in the sale paper, looking online in the back and everything else... It took my suggesting that we ring it up and then return it if the rebates don't come up to finally get out of there with my gorgeous new IBM UPS! Enjoy this one, especially you guys in Cali!!
