i have both a trackpoint and a touchpad on my ibm thinkpad

i use the touchpad only

is there any way to convert the trackpoint into a tool to scroll on web pages??

Could it be in "Mouse Properties" under the "TrackPoint" tab? I only have a Thinkstick, but this is the location of my scroller settings for my scroll key and the rest of the Thinkstick settings.
 
Right! In Control Panel/Mouse, select the Ultranav tab. That gives you all the available choices with respect to your trackpoint and Touchpad. You can set the Trackpoint to scroll.
