Hey guys. I used to frequent AT back in the day and now I can't remember my login.

Anyway, my IBM ThinkPad T30 is starting to act up. Recently without warning, when I power the laptop on, it'll go up to the IBM screen and then a black screen with "Fan Error" comes up and the laptop shuts down.

The fan isn't making any noises or anything other than the usual. I'm clueless as to how to begin to fix this problem. This comes as my warranty JUST expired last month. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Replace or have the fan replaced. Anyway - it's a bum. :)

Broke right after warranty eh? Sounds like the Canon digital camcorders with the casette bays always breaking after warranty. See if you can have the fan replaced I guess but if I were you I'd buy a different laptop when replacement time rolls around.
