Hi there, I have an IBM Thinkpad T22 series laptop. Its has a 14.1" LCD screen that seems to have a native resolution of 1400 x 1050. Now as you can imagine, this can make things very difficult to read as icons, text etc are very small. I've tried to change the resolution to 1024 x 768 and after doing so, the screen appears at that resolution but it doest fill the whole screen. Only a small portion in the center of the LCD is used to display at this resolution. BTW, the laptop has a S3 Graphics Inc. SavageIX GPU with 8MB memory. Can some one please help me get the screen to display at a resolution of 1024 X 768 full screen. Much thanks

well the thing is, that the color is only 16 bit, I when I change it to 32 bit the screen blanks to 1024 x 768, but at this resolution, only a fraction of the screeb is used?

that's the problem, it should represent the screen size or at least be a generic plug and play monitor.

You say its a T22. Look on the bottom of the machine and provide the model and type (ie 2647-XXX or 2648-XXX). Or you can go to your thinkpad configuration app and select:

System Information-BIOS information. It will list the model and type there as well.

Different models have different display capabilities.

ok man, i did just that, but still the same result. I also did some research on the net and concluded that these particular model LCD can only operate at that resolution 1400 x 1050. but I also fixed the problem by just increasing the dpi in windows. Now everything looks much better. Thanks for all your help though!
