hello

I've got a IBM thinkpad 390e here and nothing shows up on the screen. The LCD screen seems to turn on as it is slightly lit up but nothing displays at all. I've plugged another monitor into the back and it works fine. Is it a dead screen? I cant get it serviced so if I cant get it going its going in the bin!

thanks for any help,
brendan

Check your manual, you might have hit the right hotkeys to turn off the LCD display.

hopefully you really mean "I'm going to sell it" since a mostly-working laptop still has some resale value, either for parts or for someone who has a monitor.

Is there an option to switch between the lcd screen and the ext vga adaptor? I've encountered people accidently switching to the external mode more than once. Theres probably an icon on the on your keyboard to switch, you might have to hit the function key to activate it.

Function F7 switches between the laptop display and the external monitor or both.... i've tried that many times with no luck.
