Hi,
I have an IBM T40 (237358U), there is a problem with the DVD ROM. Every time I put in a
CD (some software installation cd etc.) , the computer cannot read the content, i.e., in the 'my
computer', there is no apperance of the CD. However, if I eject the CD and insert the CD again
the computer reads it without any problem. I have contacted the support service, they said its
software problem. But I still don't know what's the problem? Can anybody help me?

Thanks for your input.

I'm not sure if this would fix it, but try this update; I haven't tried it, since I don't have a floppy, but I will once I get my usbflash drive setup as bootable

Well, thanks, But I don't have a floppy . So I have to buy a floppy drive to fix this problem?
that's not good! I definitely don't want to pay money to fix this small problem?
Anyone has other ideas?

My T21 has a removable DVD drive. If nothing else works, you may just need to replace it. However, more info is needed before I can recomend getting a new DVD drive.
