IBM T30 Power Issue

I'm having a serious issue with my IBM T30 ThinkPad. When I press the power button on the laptop the pwoer light turns on but the screen stays black, the HD doesn't spin up, and the CD-ROM spins up and that is all it does. One quick press will cut the power to the laptop and it just keeps doing the same thing. I've tried it on AC and Battery. I've removed the battery for several hours, replaced it and then tried but with the same result. I've reseated the RAM and hard drive.

To me it seems like either, the HD died, Mobo died or Processor died, but I have no idea. Anybody have any suggestions? Thanks!

i ran into a similar problem with my old x24, it came out to be my motherboard died. I contacted ibm support and surprisingly it was still in warranty and they replaced it. i wasn't even the original owner!

Ya, I think it could very well be the motherboard. It's really unfortunate, this has been an outstanding laptop

CMOS Battery.

Get new one... pop it in. Chances are the ThinkPad will power up. Maybe.
