Is the PIII chip in the IBM t20 series a socket chip? I ask because I have one here that has a 700mhz chip and I would like to swap out the PIII 600 that is in my compaq which is of the socket type. Thanks.
 
Yes it's a socket but you cannot switch desktop and mobile versions. The sockets are different. Plus tampering with your PC will usually void the warranty.
