Has anyone upgraded the memory on their T-40? I have the 2379D6U model. Just wondering cause mine's too slow with systemworks and firewall running. I've heard otehr people comment that you can only use IBM upgrades but other people say it is possible to use crucial if you get specific ones.

Please give me you input!! Thanks!!

I picked up a 256 MB so-DIMM from Dell the last time they had a sale on memory. It works fine.

The only problems I've heard of as far as T40 memory upgrades were 512 MB crucial modules

Was that an IBM salesman who said you can only use IBM upgrades? :) You may use almost any manufacturers RAM, as long as it's specs are compatible. I would go with the larger (read better) manufacturers, it will help stop you from going thru the trial and error process. I guess Pandaren has heard problems with Crucial and the T40, so maybe you should stay away from them. Normally that is who I recommend for RAM. What problems did you hear of and who had the problem Pandaren?

There were a few posts here and at the IBM customer support forums concerning the Crucial 512 MB modules. People were getting blue screens while using them.

As far as I know, the 256 MB modules are fine :)
