Hey Guys,

It looks like I will need to send at least one of my 75gxp drives in, and was wondering how the system worked. I've not yet run the drive fitness test, but will probably do that tonight, but I do have the click of death on at least one drive. I have 2 75gxp 75gig drives in a Raid 0. Since the 75gxp was the only model that came in this size, what do you think IBM will do? I would like to keep running the Raid 0, but I think I will probably get an 80gig model as a replacement. Can I send both drives in?

Also, how does the rma process work and how long does it take? I believe Western Digital will ship you the replacement drive before they receive your rma'd drive if you have a credit card. Does IBM offer this feature as well? Help from any of the multitude of IBM warranty users would be greatly appreciated.

IBM dictates that you must ship the drive in a static back and packed with foam block. Do not wrap it in bubble wrap or padded by foam peanuts.

Where do I get a foam block from?

How do I run that fitness test if my drives are in a raid 0? Can I leave them in raid or do I need to put them on a single controller?
