IBM R40 Keyboard not recognized?

Just got in an IBM R40 laptop. Laptop, if left alone to boot, will boot directly into bios. Pressing the thinkvantage key during boot does nothing, and once in the bios, up/down/etc, nothing works. I have taken it apart, and reconnected the keyboard to no avail. I have tried a known good keyboard out of my T40, still with no luck. I replaced the cmos, which did not help. Any ideas? thanks!

What do you mean a non wifi KB? Do you mean a wireless kb? Wireless KBs are either RF or Bluetooth. They don't use Wifi. But a Wireless KB will be fine too. Or you can go out and get a cheap $10-$20 USB KB.
