Just to bring you all up to date..

I got my monitor and it came excellently packaged also. Hooked it up and it is a sweet looking monitor. As good or better than my old Viewsonic P775 which was the best looking 17" I had ever used up to now.

All in all I am pleased with the deal but as stated before will not deal with TD again because of the hassles... :(

Thanks Lanyap.

Apparently I was lucky. Ordered the P76 monitor before reading all of the remarks posted here. The unit arrived Tuesday, six days transit time including the weekend. Packed well and in perfect operating order. Looks brand new. Well pleased with the purchase.

They still have the plain ol' white FD Trinitron in stock..do you guys think it's worth it? With my new setup-in-progress (1.2 GHz T-bird, 512MB DDR RAM and 64MB GF2Pro w/ 5ns memory) I'm thinking I should be able to play UT at 1600x1200 smoothly, but my current 17" monitor can't go that high, and have been looking for one (or a cheap but decent 19"er) that can do the job. I want to buy...but it's TigerDirect. :disgust:

I had the 17" IBM P70 monitor, I imagine it is comparable to this. I can vouch for this monitor its a great monitor, although i never used it for gaming, it was easy on the eyes, detailed, and good colors. I saw refurbed 17 inch Trinitrons at Microcenter in Houston for about 120 so that may be worth looking into as well.
