IBM Microdrive Question

Recently there was a thread in the "Hot Deals" forum for a 1GB IBM Microdrive for less than $200 from Iomega... Included with the microdrive was pc card adapter so that you could hook the microdrive up to your laptop and pull pictures off. That's nice, but I don't have a laptop. I have a desktop. What would I need to do/buy to pull picutres from the microdrive to my desktop? THanks

For 20 or 30$ you should be able to get a USB compactflash adapter and use that. Most of the USB CF adapters support type II CF.

Yep, just make sure to read the specs and verify that it can accept Microdrives. Some CF readers can, and some can't.

I know Newegg carries at least one CF card reader with specs that include the ability to accept Microdrives.

As for me, I like everything built in. I installed a PC card reader in my 3.5 drive slot. The only down side is the three huge ribbon cables running from the card reader, to the PCI card.
